SALESIAN GUILD ANNUAL GATHERING
The 78th annual meeting of the Salesian Guild was held January 28, 2023, at the Comboni Mission Center, Anderson Township.

An inspirational evening was enjoyed on January 28, with Catholic communicators from around Greater Cincinnati coming together for Mass, food and fellowship.
Awards for Communicator of the Year for 2023, 2022, 2021 were presented. (Covid prevented our in-person gatherings for two years.)
Our keynote speaker was Dr. Cecilia A. Moore, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Dayton and co-editor of Songs of Our Hearts and Meditations of Our Souls: Prayers for Black Catholics.

2023 Keynote Speaker
Dr. Cecilia Moore
The 2023 keynote speaker will be Dr. Cecilia Moore, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Dayton and co-editor of Songs of Our Hearts and Meditations of Our Souls: Prayers for Black Catholics. Her work was featured in the recently released Black Catholic Studies Reader: History and Theology, a collection of writings from prominent Black Catholic scholars.
Dr. Moore graduated magna cum laude from Sweet Briar College with an A.B. in History and Religion and from the University of Virginia with a M.A. and a Ph.D. in American Religious History. She has taught at the University of Dayton in the Department of Religious Studies since 1996 and at Xavier University of Louisiana in the Institute for Black Catholic Studies since 1998.
Dr. Moore will share insights from her research on the conversion of black Americans to Catholicism through her presentation “Writing for Justice from Cincinnati: Daniel Rudd and the American Catholic Tribune.”
